You
can see some of the features of the Calc-Electric software by looking
at the screenshots on this page. (Click on images to enlarge)
Camera
setup screen
With
this screen you can adjust the camera resolution and the sensitivity of
the camera so that it reliably detects the rotation of the disk in the
electricity meter.
Data
Logging Screen
This
screen shows your energy consumption, power, and cost per hour since you
started recording the data. The data that this screen shows (always being
updated) is stored in your PC's memory for later study. This data may
be viewed as it's being collected in the graph screen (see bottom).
Trip
Screen
This
screen is like mileage trip counter in a car. You can start and stop and
reset this screen as much as you like whilst still logging data via the
Data Logging Screen. Data in this screen is not stored to memory.
This
screen is useful for you to see the effect of turning individual appliances
on and off.
Graph
Screen
This
screen lets you view the recorded data (such as total energy used, cost
etc) which has been gathered when the Data Logging Screen is active. You
can use this screen whilst the data is being collected, after you've finished
collecting it, and at any time later on if you have saved the logged data
to disk. You can read individual values from this graph by moving the
mouse pointer over the area of interest. You can zoom in and out of this
screen to view timespans. The Calc-Electric program is capable or running
continuously over long periods of time (months if necessary) and storing
all of the collected data for later analysis.
